Our repeat client, IWG, asked Interspace to renovate their longest operating Regus serviced workplace in Hong Kong's landmark Central Plaza, occupying a whole floor area of 18,000 square feet. Our design concept was bright, cheerful, and welcoming, bringing a totally new look to this center with open, expansive views from the enlarged and unified business club/cafe/reception space. Full height glazed partitions for all new rooms allows sunlight to penetrate into the internal offices, and a re-aligned main corridor links both sides of the floor to the new central business club.
This extremely complex project required our most intensive project management and design coordination yet, without any existing/as-built drawings available. During the project, the building management independently conducted a complete air conditioning system retrofit of the old pneumatic-type VAV system with a new DDC system simultaneously with a full ceiling system replacement during our renovation works. All electrical and IT cabling had to be replaced due to the age of the existing materials. All works took place during the most serious period of pandemic restrictions in Hong Kong and mainland China, necessitating a very creative approach to the many logistical challenges.
